The Grammy Red Carpet was unique this year. Trendy styles appeared from all the designers as stars showed off their personal favorites that demonstrated their personalities and charm. I loved seeing more risk on the red carpet this year and less classic standards. Here are my favorites.
(Above) Beyoncé and Jay Z in Michael Costello by far my favorite looks of the night on this couple. Beyonces dress is stunning and mesmerizing to look at. The design is perfection on her figure and the mesh based white scrolling patterns are exquisitely factored into this gown that melts old Hollywood with fresh new modern elements. It really looked like every part of the print was a carefully placed to hide the right spots while still hitting her figure in just the right way to accentuate curves in a slimming way. #loveit
Madonna in Ralph Lauren. She’s always making a statement and a surprise visit gave us a surprise grill on her teeth, hat, tuxedo and silver glove. Cross bolero and cane topped off her trend setting feature filled emsamble.
Robin Thicke & Paula Patton In Giorgio Armani
Cut out necklines, lace inserts and applica in exotic fabrics and patterns was shown all over the red carpet. I can’t wait to see ready to wear fashion reflecting these design elements.
Wiz Khalifa in ySL & Amber Rose In Naeem Khan . With tattoos covered, she looked amazing. I love the neckline, color and pattern of this dress. Ultra flattering and very red carpet glamorous. This gown is modern with classic feel due to the fabric and updated bustline.
Ariana Grande Jordan In Dolce & Gabbana – I’m happy to see Springs print make it to the runway and the new mid-calf full skirted length is fun to see. I thought this dress was adorable on her. Love the blush pink shoes picking up an unexpected hue from the dress.
Chrissy Teigen In Johanna Johnson- the color is gorgeous, it was nice to see strapless appear on the red carpet, especially with a special design element like this front trim bound V. Typically I would have liked to see one less design element in this dress. I think the side stripe and front slit were enough. The dress could have done without the revealing bustline, a simple strapless would have been plenty and felt more glamorous and less overdone.
Anna Faris in Fitriani- the color is rich and looks amazing on her fair skin and blonde hair. I’m also a big fan of strapless when your wearing your hair down especially when the dress is simple. This dress is more about design that makes it glamorous than accents and elements. I am seeing a hand jewelry trend emerging this year. Lots of knuckle rings and wrist warping rings. I would have loved to have seen her wearing a color instead of the midnight stoned jewel but I do like the trend.
Giuliana Rancic in a bright hue with mesh lace applica bodice and carrying this years big accessory trend, a smoked square lucite clutch. I love all the cut outs and lace covered mesh illusion styles I’ve seen walking the red carpet, it’s going to be an exciting year for fashion this year.
